Common editor tasks
This is the short list of things the attic-organization team does in the Box Tracker. Each link below opens a step-by-step walkthrough — what to do at the box, what to do at the keyboard, and why the workflow is shaped the way it is.
- How to assign a label to a box — fresh sticker out of the stack, onto a real box, and into the system.
- How to enter or change the contents of a box — updating a box that's already been assigned.
- How to print a sheet of labels — reserve a batch, print it on Avery 5163 stock, and confirm the labels came out clean.
- How to replace a damaged label — when the sticker on a box has been torn, smudged, or destroyed.
- How to retire a box — when a physical box has been emptied out, repurposed, or thrown away.
If you're new, start with assign a label. It's the most common task and it covers the basic shape of how editing in the Box Tracker works.
